Space Shuttle Endeavour's Final Flight

On Cocoa Beach at dawn this morning,  I had the great pleasure of seeing Space Shuttle Endeavour fly overhead piggybacked on a 747, with an F-16 escort!   Endeavour soared into a cloudy sky to start its final journey to California - where it will be on display in Los Angeles.

For the past 30 years, I have enjoyed seeing Space Shuttle launches at Cape Canaveral.  I am very sad to see the Space Shuttle program end, and this was a great way to bid it a fond farewell.

Endeavour appears through the clouds shortly before 7:30 a.m.

Endeavour is escorted by another plane (right behind it) and an F-16 (off to the right).

So long Endeavour!

Cocoa Beach at dawn.  Beautiful!
