Most of my posts are about pleasant things -- with the occasional rant about things that perturb me!

HUTCHINSON ISLAND (Florida)

Hutchinson Island is an unspoiled beach on Florida's east coast. Several species of endangered sea turtles, such as the Loggerhead, the Green Turtle, and the Leatherback, come to this beautiful beach each year to lay their eggs. I spent the last couple of days here.

I woke up to this beautiful sunrise. A flock of Ibis having fun on the beach. The beaches in this area are just magnificent!
Not a bad view from my hotel balcony!
Besides the beautiful beach, I also encountered this
lovely pair of Sandhill Cranes!

HANDS ACROSS THE SAND - PROTEST AGAINST OFF-SHORE DRILLING (06/26/2010)

Hands Across the Sand is a movement made of people of all walks of life and crosses political affiliations. This movement is not about politics; it is about protection of our coastal economies, oceans, marine wildlife, and fishing industry. Let's protect our oceans and shorelines from the devastating effects of oil drilling.

Today I participated in a peaceful gathering in Juno Beach, Florida,
to protest off-shore drilling.
My friend Space [in the bird hat] participated at the event
at Hollywood Beach. She is always the life of the party!
It was a good turnout at Hollywood!
Chances are good that this beautiful beach
will be ruined by the recent and continuing oil
spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
Enjoy the beauty of pristine beachs while you can!
