Jupiter Inlet

The beach in Jupiter is beautiful.  Today, there were a lot of turtle nests marked.  The beach was pretty empty because there was a storm brewing!

The only other people on the beach.

Wild Florida Pigs

I saw this little family of wild pigs on the side of the road.  They were SO cute.  But, the closer I got snapping pictures, the more skeptical they became.  I finally annoyed them to the point of them running back into the woods; just as well, they were on the side of a very busy street.

Turtle Laying Eggs

This is an endangered Loggerhead Turtle laying its eggs on a protected area of Hutchinson Island, Florida.  In approximately 60 days, the eggs will hatch and the little hatchlings will find their way to the ocean.

Beautiful lightening!!

Hutchinson Island

WOW!   Fantastic view from my hotel balcony on Hutchinson Island!

A dolphin very near to the shore.

This is a beautiful, unspoiled beach.

Cooling off the feet!

These markers are turtle nests.  The numbers on them indicate the kind of turtle who laid the eggs and the date they were laid.  Dedicated marine biologists come out to the beach early every morning during nesting season to count the nests and to log what kinds of turtles and how many are laying eggs.

Some kids and a dog enjoying the beach!

This kid was trying surfing.  He was pretty good!

Music is officially dead when . . .

. . . Justin Bieber's new record costs more than the Smashing Pumpkins' new record (Bieber $14.99 - Pumpkins $9.99).  WTF??

Bird Road Art Walk

This was some fantastic artwork by Dennis Escobar.  The Dali is done in pencil.  Amazing!

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of ANNABEL LEE;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea;
But we loved with a love that was more than love-
I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsman came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea.

The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
Went envying her and me-
Yes!- that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we-
Of many far wiser than we-
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee.

For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling- my darling- my life and my bride,
In the sepulchre there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.
