Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge

There wasn't much wildlife at the wildlife refuge today! I only saw a bunch of vultures and a couple ospreys. It was too hot for everything else to be out and about!

SANFORD, FLORIDA

I am visiting Sanford, Florida, for a couple days. Sanford is one of Central Florida’s oldest incorporated cities; it has bricklined streets, huge oak trees, elegant store-fronts and large, 19th century Victorian homes. The Historic Downtown is filled with antique shops, restaurants and art galleries. Sanford sits on the south shore of Lake Monroe, providing a waterfront backdrop for walking, jogging or just enjoying the natural beauty.

HISTORIC DOWNTOWN AREA
Lots of outdoor-dining restaurants.
And antique shops.
This was a cool folk art store. The wall around it had
all kinds of little trinkets pressed into the cement.
It was very interesting.
This is the RiverWalk area. It had about a 2-mile
pathway all along the water. There's a beautiful
park with gezebos and more restaurants.
Veteran's Memorial Park - a beautiful little area
honoring veterans.

CASSADAGA, FLORIDA

Today I visited Cassadaga, which is known as “The Psychic Center of the World”. The word Cassadaga is a term used by the Seneca Indians meaning, “Rocks beneath the water.” Because of its unique energy level, it is the premiere psychic community and is home to some of America’s finest psychics. Many psychics enjoy reading in Cassadaga due to the ethereal vibrations with Spirit and clients with utmost clarity. These special etheric vibrations emanate from the Earth itself, sometimes called Ley Lines or energy Hot Spots. Cassadaga is a place that’s out of the main stream, a place to relax and get back in touch with yourself.

Some pretty horses on the side of the street.

Cassadaga is very small. From what I could see, this is the only hotel. There are a lot of old-style Florida homes here.

A pretty park in town.
The town is made up entirely of
Mediums and Psychics.

GREAT CONCERT BY NATALIE MERCHANT

Natalie Merchant is sometimes a little cranky about having her photo taken during a concert, but she always puts on a great show. She has an amazing voice, even when she is singing nursery rhymes!

COLONY HOTEL, DELRAY BEACH FL

I spent the weekend at this beautiful hotel in Delray Beach, Florida. It's an eco-friendly, historic place with magnificent hardwood floors and a lobby with a real "old-Florida" feel to it.

This is the front of the hotel.
This is a grand ballroom that also serves as a yoga studio.

The huge hotel rooms are filled with antique
furniture, and beautiful hardwood floors.

The hallway.
It also has a private beach.
Sea turtles nest on the beach during June, July & August.
The hotel also has a heated, saltwater pool.
