Delray Affair

It was a gorgeous (albeit hot) day for the 52nd Annual Delray Affair in Delray Beach.  There were a lot of people there, and a lot of great arts and crafts!  And, of course, lots of good food!

 

Lots of fun art, jewelry, crafts and everything in between!

 

This artist was my favorite.  Artist Cheri Kudja makes "Bitti Bots" -  little characters made from recycled or found objects.  Each one was unique and charming and one of a kind.  I love her stuff!  Check out her stuff:  www.bittibots.com

Boston Marathon Winner!

On Monday, April 21, 2014, Meb Keflezighi, won the Boston Marathon; he was the first American man to win the Marathon since 1983.  That's not why I am posting this photograph.  I am posting it because, if you look closely at his bib, you will see 4 names - THAT's why I am posting it.

Meb had four names written on his official runner's bib as he ran the 26.2 miles from Hopkinton to downtown Boston on Monday:  Martin, Krystle, Lingzi and Sean. Those were the names of three people killed at last year's marathon,  as well as the name of a MIT police officer who was killed during the ensuing manhunt for the bombing suspects.
 
"It's beyond words. I was standing in the grandstand last year when the bombs exploded," Keflezighi said, "This is for Boston, the United States and the world."



Awesome!

FLYING BABY BALD EAGLES

These bald eagles were hatched approximately January 11, 2014.  They are just a little over 3 months old and flying already.  Today, they were near the nest - waiting for a parent to bring them food, which she/he did!

 

Empty Nest Syndrome.

 

 

The parent still brings food to the nest.

 

I think she even chops it up for her offspring.

 

Eaglet # 1 quickly showed up for a free meal!

 

The parent flew off the nest and let the eaglet eat.

 

She's not far away - in a tree watching her nest.

 

Eaglet #2 flew right in front of my face!

 

She landed on the branch near the parent, but the parent quickly flew off.

 

Beautiful 3-month-old baby bald eagle.

I guess she will wait her for her next meal!
