Williamsburg and Newport News, Virginia

It was a smidge cooler than I had anticipated!

There was a beautiful dusting of snow on the ground!

Not a bad view to wake up to (Marriott, Newport News VA)

A cold day calls for a hot beverage!  Sooooo good - from Aroma's in Newport News

I took a drive through historic Williamsburg.  It was a beautiful drive, but I didn't have enough time there.  I'd like to go back and see more than I did.

Beautiful day!

I loved this farm.

The town is beautiful with all the old buildings and restaurants and shops.  It was a gorgeous day to walk around.  This area is free; but, for the actual tour, there is a ticket fee.  I didn't do it this time, but I will next time I go.

My day ended in the same spot it started, Aromas.  This was an amazing bowl of potato soup.  Soooo delicious on a cold day!

Beautiful sunset (wish that building wasn't there!)

Quick trip to Savannah!

Savannah, Georgia, is a beautiful town with a ton of history.  I love coming here and seeing all the old homes and buildings.  What I love the most are all the squares in town.  You walk a block or two and hit a square (essentially a little park in the middle of the street).

My day started out with the Trolley.  It's really the best way to get around.  You can get off and on as much as you like.  It saves you having to find parking in the downtown area (not easy!).  The guys narrating the tours are great!  We took Old Town, but there are several to choose from.

LOTS of shops, restaurants and places to enjoy!

LOVE the old houses!

Riverfront

"Girl Waving Flag"

The 1996 Olympic Torch (some events were held in Savannah)

WEINERMOBILE!

A stop at Clary's for a bite to eat!

Oh, a delicious breakfast.  The "Elvis" - French toast filled with peanut butter and banana - then grilled!  YUM!

So gooooey!

Cruel, cruel, cruel.  It's hot in Georgia.  There are much better ways to get around.

Love the squares!

Pralines on the waterfront.  SO delicious!

Oh, my goodness!  This was a beautiful Temple.  We took the tour inside (a $4 donation) and it was so rich in history.  It was very interesting.  Worth a visit if you're in Savannah.

The inside was amazing.

Love "Victorian Row"

My day concluded with a fantastic Italian meal at Corleone's!

The bread was the BEST!

As good as it looks!

Heading out of Savannah . . .

And, in to North Carolina . . .
