Blue Moon Over Miami . . . and a possom
While out looking at the beautiful full moon, I encountered this varmint. My cat is very generous ~ she shares her evening snack with whatever hungry critter comes around!
Why am I dressed in pink?
I don't know why they insist on dressing my sweet nephew in pink!! At least his hat is the right color!

I remember the day like it was yesterday . . .
On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong and his partner Buzz Aldrin made history as the first people to ever walk on the moon. We were all sitting in front of our black and white TVs anxiously watching. Today, we lost a true American hero.
Two Americans, astronauts of Apollo 11, steered their fragile four-legged lunar module safely and smoothly to the historic landing yesterday at 4:17:40 P.M., Eastern daylight time. Neil A. Armstrong, the 38-year-old civilian commander, radioed to earth and the mission control room here:

"Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed."
Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope.
Just my luck to be staying at a hotel in Orlando where there is a Star Wars convention! While I do not understand it at all, I appreciate these people's passion. They are having so much fun!
My friends, Trevor and Ryan. Best costume in my opinion!
(I didn't take this one photo.)
There was no shortage of StormTroopers
Like, seriously, I can't possibly be the only one who noticed that there was a guy in the hotel lobby with a gun pointed at a kid!
Of course the gun's not real (I hope); and, he was nice enough to sign an autograph for the kid. I wonder what name he wrote on that paper?!
I love the big, giant kitty!
This backpack was not on a child. It was on a grown woman!
And, this one on a grown man!
Is it just me, or does this outfit look just a little bit like an SS Officer's?? I'm just sayin' . . .
They're setting up for a big Star Wars party tonight!

Hurricane Andrew ~ 20 Years Later!
Hard to imagine that it's been 20 years since Hurricane Andrew struck South Florida with a vengeance. These are photos I took the day after the storm. It was just unfathomable. While I am not a big fan of any member of the Bush family, I have to admit that our then-Governor Jeb Bush did a great job after the storm.
This was a tiny church in Florida City. The building blew away, but the pews remained.
People came from all over the United States to help South Florida and were AMAZING! My home was not damaged, but I was without electricity for a couple weeks. I remember the day some power guys came from another state and restored my neighborhood's electricity. They were big heroes to us and we were cheering them in the street!

Making Tracks on Mars
This image shows the tracks left by NASA's Curiosity rover on Aug. 22, 2012, as it completed its first test drive on Mars. The rover went forward, rotated and then reversed. Love this photo (wish I had taken it!).
Sweet Baby James
I'm trying not to be too obnoxious with the pictures of my nephew, but this one was so cute. He looks very MAD at being woken up!

Lego Art
This is a cool display of Lego art at the Hollywood Art Museum. I have seen it before, but there were some new pieces this time.
Talk about a needle in a haystack. On the peace sign above, the artist claims there are only 3 places where the same color touch. My OCD insisted I find the 3 spots. Before long, my ADD kicked in and I got bored after having only found 2 of them. Below, the gray touches (top left) and the red touches (middle right). I can't believe I actually stood there for more than 8 seconds trying to find them.
